The prospect of developing Patent Courts in Russia

For the last decade the concern about intellectual property in Russia has risen significantly. A growing number of foreign companies join the Russian market for business dealing which leads to increase in number of disputes connected with the intellectual rights.

Intellectual property is property at first place, and every legal owner wants to keep it secure, including the means of judicial protection among others.

Currently the order of judicial protection in Russia is quite tangled which makes many foreign companies face the dilemma. Their options are the following: to start business in Russia and face problems that are difficult to resolve, for this country has earned the reputation of the territory of active cybersquatting and “gray import”; or not deal business in Russia at all in order to avoid all those negative consequences related to protection of one’s intellectual rights…
