Effective 11 August 2025, amendments to the Labour Code of the Russian Federation expand guarantees for external part-time employees dismissed due to the liquidation of the employer or reduction in headcount/staff.
Under the amendments, employees dismissed on these grounds who, at the time of dismissal, were working under external part-time employment and continue such employment after leaving their primary job, are entitled to the job-placement payments for the period of employment provided in Parts 1β3 of Article 178 of the Labour Code of the Russian Federation, in addition to statutory severance pay.
The amendments also address employees working in the regions of the Far North and equivalent localities, specifying enhanced guarantees and compensations upon dismissal on the above grounds.
